Meru Classrooms

Physical Classrooms:

Meru recognizes the importance of providing a comfortable and conducive physical environment in classrooms for optimal student learning. With this in mind, our classrooms are designed to be clean, spacious, well-ventilated, and vibrant, fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages immersive learning experiences.

In the primary segment, Meru implements cluster seating, promoting peer interaction and facilitating greater mobility within the classroom. The average class size at Meru is 25 students per class in Early Years, primary, and middle school. Each classroom features a dedicated reading corner, instilling a love for reading from a young age, which is essential in today’s world. Mood charts are also displayed in every classroom to help learners identify and understand their emotions.

Interactive boards provide access to a wide range of online content, enhancing teaching and learning experiences. Students’ work is proudly displayed in the classrooms, fostering a sense of ownership and boosting self-esteem among learners. Each Meru classroom is designed to actively engage and immerse students in their learning journey.

Virtual Classrooms

MERU uses Google Classroom, a very powerful tool which enhances and simplifies communication between students and teachers and reduces carbon footprint.

  • Using Google Classroom together with other G Suite applications has been a huge success at MERU. Teachers across the school use it to set homework, provide feedback and share resources, and it is a key tool for Careers, the Wellbeing programme and the Personal Tutors.
  • Google Classroom proved invaluable during the Coronavirus lockdown period, and it’s worth noting that all our classes ran as usual online, by combining Google Classroom with a video conferencing platform for remote interactive lessons. This meant that LEARNING NEVER STOPPED at MERU and it just took a DETOUR.
  • The Google classrooms are further made interactive through the active use of JAMBOARDS, PADLETS etc
  • Our teachers have gone a step further and brought the elements of learning to life through their Augmented Reality sessions
